I am a freelance writer and licensed clinical social worker. I attended the University of Kansas, earning a BA in psychology in 1986 and an MSW in 1996. I am proud to work at one of the only not-for-profit hospices in the Kansas City area.

My newest book, Hospice Tails: The Animal Companions Who Journey With Hospice Patients and Their Families, is now onsale at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Booklocker.com.

My freelance writing career spans more than a decade. I have written business correspondence, keyword/SEO articles, newsletter content, book and movie reviews, blog posts, press releases, essays, books, and editorials. Among other publishers, my work has been featured on WOW! Women on Writing, TravelWise, Health Insurance Carriers, Democratic Underground, and Bella Online. I also perform writining, editing, and fiction coaching services for several private clients.

My novel, Visiting Grandma, which tells the story of a gay teenager facing sexual abuse, was published through Booklocker in 2003. Some of my short stories are available on the fiction page of my website.

I am a member of the International Women's Writing Guild, The National Association to Protect Children, and the Alliance of Hope for Suicide Survivors. My interests include health and mental health, LGBT issues, cats, reading, traveling, atheism, and Tudor history.
